Greenpoint Loft Wedding | Scot & George
Scot and George's Greenpoint Loft wedding, catered by Jillicious Foods & Events in Brooklyn, NY, was a celebration as unique as their love story. Situated in the vibrant heart of Greenpoint Brooklyn, The venue offered an ideal canvas for their adventurous spirits to shine. The industrial pre-WWII era warehouse has been beautifully restored with stunning exposed high beam ceilings, wooden floors, and open window skylights. The venue’s outdoor space, boasting stunning views of the Brooklyn waterfront, provided an enchanting backdrop for the cocktail hour, setting the scene for an unforgettable evening. Infused with a travel-inspired theme that threaded through every detail, their wedding day was a heartfelt tribute to their shared adventures and distinctive personalities.
Personalized Escort Suitcases: Rather than traditional escort cards, George's creativity shone through in the form of miniature suitcases for each guest. Each suitcase bore a table name of their favorite travel destinations, including Bangkok, Paris, Palm Springs, and Sadona, as well as their favorite places closer to home, Fire Island, the West Village, and the Upper West Side, all destinations significant to the couple's travels together.
A Ceremony Unbound: Breaking away from convention, the ceremony embraced an intimate "in the round" setup. Under a canopy of disco balls, George and Scot exchanged vows surrounded by their closest loved ones, infusing the moment with whimsy and warmth. And the moment started with the couple walking in together to the theme of the golden girls. It was truly spectacular.
Culinary Expedition at Cocktail Hour: Guests embarked on a culinary journey during the cocktail hour, where the grazing table stole the spotlight. From artisanal cheeses to savory charcuterie and inventive delights like smoked chickpea hummus, every bite offered a taste of adventure.
Shared Feasts, Shared Stories: Dinner was a communal experience, served family-style to foster a strong sense of community and connection among guests. Scot and George ensured that their diverse backgrounds were reflected in the menu. With George hailing from Texas and Scot from Massachusetts, the culinary offerings featured nods to both regions – from lobster rolls during the cocktail hour to a contemporary twist on a clam bake for Scott and BBQ short ribs for George. Crafting a custom menu that encapsulated their journey was a joyous collaboration, and as plates of delicious dishes made their rounds, laughter and conversation flowed freely, embodying the essence of togetherness.
